Laser Hair Removal in Doha, Qatar

Dermatologist-led treatment in Al Sadd, matched to your skin tone — including the darker skin types many clinics turn away.

Why Patients Start

In this climate, it is closer to skin care than beauty

Shaving and waxing in Doha is a routine that never ends. Hair returns within days, sweat sits trapped against the skin, and the irritation that follows takes longer to settle here than almost anywhere else.

Sweat and heat

Body hair holds moisture against the skin all day. Through a Doha summer, that is where folliculitis, heat rash and fungal irritation begin.

Ingrown hairs and dark marks

Shaving, waxing and threading push hair back into the follicle. On brown and darker skin, the inflammation that follows often leaves marks that last longer than the hair did.

Razor bumps on the beard line

The most common skin complaint we see in men who shave daily. Treating the neck and beard line addresses the cause instead of managing it every morning.

How it works

Light, Pigment, Heat — and why one session is never enough

The laser sends light into the skin. Melanin — the pigment that gives hair its colour — absorbs that light and turns it into heat. The heat damages the follicle so it can no longer grow hair normally, while the skin around it is left alone.

This is why hair colour matters more than most people expect. Dark hair absorbs the light well. White, grey and very blonde hair holds little pigment for the laser to find, so it responds poorly. We will tell you at your assessment if that applies to you.

Your hair is not all growing at once. Every follicle moves through three phases — active growth, transition, and rest. The laser only affects follicles in the active phase, because that is when pigment in the follicle is at its highest.

Each session catches the group of follicles that happen to be active that week. Sessions spaced a few weeks apart catch the next group, and the next. That is not a limitation of the machine — it is simply how hair grows, and it is why keeping to your appointment schedule changes your final result.

The question we are asked most

Is laser hair removal safe for dark skin?

Yes — with the right wavelength and a proper assessment first. Older machines could not always tell the difference between the pigment in your hair and the pigment in your skin, which on darker tones risked burns and patches of discolouration. A lot of people in Qatar were turned away, or had a poor experience elsewhere and never went back.

What we treat with: the Duetto MT EVO

It carries two established lasers in one system, and can fire either on its own, one after the other, or blended into a single pulse.

755nm

Alexandrite

Strongly absorbed by melanin. The established choice for lighter and medium skin tones, and it handles the fine, thin and lighter hair that other lasers struggle with.

1064nm

Nd:YAG

Travels deeper and is absorbed far less by pigment at the skin's surface. The established choice for darker skin tones and for skin that has caught the sun.

What this means for you: the settings are chosen for your skin and your hair, rather than one setting applied to everybody. If another clinic has told you laser is not suitable for your skin tone, come in for an assessment — with the right wavelength, it usually is.

Before we treat anything

  1. Skin assessmentWe identify your Fitzpatrick skin type — the scale running from very fair through to the deepest tones — along with your hair colour and thickness.
  2. Medical reviewSome medicines make skin more sensitive to light, including certain antibiotics and acne treatments. We check this before any setting is chosen.
  3. Patch testA small area is treated first, so we can see how your skin actually responds before treating a full area.

Areas we treat

What patients ask for most

For men

AreaWhy men ask for it
Beard line & neckThe clearest answer to daily razor bumps and ingrown hairs. Shapes the beard line without shaving it every day.
Back & shouldersImpossible to manage alone. Large, flat and quick to treat — among the most satisfying areas for results.
Chest & abdomenFull clearance or general thinning. Worth discussing which you actually want before you start.
Full bodyFor patients who would rather deal with it in one course than area by area.

For Women

AreaWhy women ask for it
Face & upper lipEnds the threading routine and the irritation that tends to follow it.
UnderarmsOne of the fastest areas to treat, and one of the first to show a visible change.
Bikini & BrazilianTreated with full privacy.
Legs & armsThe biggest time saving of any area, given how often they otherwise need shaving.

Planning your course

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on the area, your hair thickness and colour, and whether hormones are driving the growth. Your dermatologist gives you a clearer estimate after your assessment. As a general guide:

AreaTypical courseSpacing
Body — legs, arms, back, chest, underarms6 to 8 sessionsEvery 4–6 weeks
Face and beard line8 to 10 sessionsEvery 4 weeks
Bikini and Brazilian6 to 8 sessionsEvery 4–5 weeks

Hormonal conditions such as PCOS can keep activating new follicles even after existing ones are treated. Laser still works well in these cases, but expect more sessions and occasional top-ups.

If you miss an appointment you have not lost your progress — but the follicles you would have caught that week move into their resting phase. Keeping to the schedule is the part of the treatment genuinely in your hands.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is laser hair removal permanent?

It gives long-term hair reduction rather than the complete permanent removal of every follicle. Most patients see a large drop in hair density after a full course, and whatever grows back is usually finer, lighter and far less noticeable. Many people find that is enough and stop there.

Most patients describe a quick warm snap with each pulse, eased by the cooling applied to the skin. No anaesthetic is needed. Sensitive areas such as the upper lip and bikini line are felt more than the legs or back, and numbing cream can be used if you would prefer it.

Yes, when the right wavelength is used. The Nd:YAG 1064 nm setting on the Duetto MT EVO is well established for darker skin tones because it targets the follicle at depth rather than the pigment at the surface. Your skin type is assessed and patch tested before treatment begins.

It depends on the area and whether you book single sessions or a package. Our current prices are listed above, and a consultation gives you an exact figure for your treatment plan.

Yes, with care. The requirements are daily SPF 50 on treated areas, avoiding direct sun, and no tanning between sessions. Some patients prefer to start in the cooler months when sun avoidance is easier, but summer treatment is entirely workable.

Not well. The laser targets pigment, and these hair types hold very little of it. We will tell you honestly at your assessment if your hair is unlikely to respond, rather than sell you a course that will not work.

Yes, and a growing number do. The beard line, neck, back, shoulders and chest are the most requested areas. For men who get razor bumps every day, the beard line and neck are usually the place to start. Male appointment times can be arranged on request.

Laser hair removal is not recommended during pregnancy. If you are pregnant or planning to be, pause your course and resume afterwards.
